Other liability claims - Oil spill, CPO etc

There are a wide range of other environments of compensation where there is a need to assess and prepare a consequential loss claim. Many of these have a presumption of legal liability on the part of the compensating body that in the first instance need not be proven.

Such situations are:

  • Oil pollution damage where the claims are made against the international oil pollution compensation fund
  • Water damage as a result of burst water or sewage pipes against the local water board
  • Compulsory Purchase of Property by the Council or other authorised body

Pragmaticum’s directors have experience in all of these and can guide you through the procedures that apply in each case. Remember the main issue in these cases is quantum (the amount of the loss) not the liability of who is to pay it.
